A great joy that’s come from recent work has been automating repetitive tasks for co-workers and users of the new company ERP system. This has allowed valuable time to be freed for other, more meaningful tasks.
Drawing on experience gained from integrating the current e-commerce website with the new ERP system, we were able to build an automated system for importing orders from a number of POS systems and order formats.
There is a default order import option available, but only default fields are allowed for import. Due to our reliance on custom fields for Multi-warehouse Ordering, a custom solution was needed for posting orders via the ERP API.
With the new automated ordering system in place, tasks are now scheduled to run daily. Workers can oversee the process, correcting issues as they arise instead of being buried in the busy work of repetative data entry.
